Request for tender to recycle the Northern Endeavour

The Department of Industry Science and Resources has released a request for tender (RFT) to find a supplier to recycle the Northern Endeavour floating production storage and offtake (FPSO) vessel.

Submissions close 2:00 pm AEDT 29 November 2024.

The department is seeking proposals from organisations to recycle the FPSO and manage the disposal of hazardous waste. This also includes the recycling of any furniture, fixtures, equipment, victuals or other on-board items. The FPSO will be towed to the ship recycling facility of the successful Tenderer.

Interested parties must register to submit proposals through the AusTender website.

The department is holding industry briefing sessions for interested parties. There will be 3 separate briefings focussing on the commercial, financial and technical aspects of the RFT. To register for the briefings, email the contact officer at NERecycleProc@industry.gov.au and include:

  • your company name
  • the name of the attendees and which session they will be attending
  • the email addresses of all attendees
  • confirmation that attendees have read and understood the briefing protocols including in the RFT documents.

CODA welcomes new Industry Advisory Committee members

The Centre of Decommissioning Australia (CODA) is pleased to announce the appointment of two new members to its Industry Advisory Committee: Danny Woodall, Director of Operations at Chevron Australia, and Steve Trench, Executive Vice President of Operations and Technical Services at Santos.

Danny Woodall oversees the safe and reliable operations of Chevron’s Gorgon LNG and Wheatstone LNG projects, as well as WA Oil and domestic gas assets. He joined Chevron in 2001 and has held various roles across multiple countries, following his education in chemical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Danny said he was looking forward to collaborating on practical initiatives to support excellence across the industry.

With over 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, including significant roles at Woodside Energy, he brings a wealth of knowledge in operations, decommissioning, asset management and strategic planning.
